The IST group enhances academic, research, administrative and support activities, through the deployment of appropriate technology.
Realization is through the evaluation of institutional needs, application, development, pilot implementation and institutional integration of cutting edge solutions. Areas include development (C++, C, TCL/TK, Visual Basic, Java ), Database Integration (MS/SQL, PROGRES, MySQL, ORACLE), distributed searching (Z39.50/HTTPD,), and networking technologies (TCP/IP, SOAP, XML-RPC).
Specific emphasis in given to Green House Monitoring and Environmental Control via RS-485/422 and QNX-RTOS and to Distance Learning and Multi-Media Course Production (Macromedia Director and AuthorWare Attain) delivered both on CD and via the WEB.
